Q2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
Billboard advertising.
There are a number of different to advertise and promote our film, due to having a teaser poster which is portrait and also having a the main film poster which is landscape. We done this to maximise advertising on billboards around london, so that promotion can be seen around London through double decker buses, billboards and bus stops. Here are images of giving an idea of how the public would be drawn to the film in their everyday lives around london or on public transport.

Social Network Advertising
There are also a number of different ways of advertising and promoting or film on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. The reason for this is because Sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are the most popular social networks site of today where millions of the worlds population use everyday.

Apps on Smartphone's
Apps on smartphone's are also a good way of advertising and promoting the film. Furthermore it makes a good technological convergence. As through technological convergence, devices are now filled with multi-media purposes, which can allow us to make marketable apps & wallpapers, which users would interact with on their smart-phone's. Technological convergence would be very helpful for our film due to the use of media content and social networking, which is vastly popular on smart-phones and could help promote the film due to open journalism.
Furthermore having apps for these two smart-phones, them being the most popular will increase the promotion for our film and as a group we thought to include a special edition theme for Blackberry users, due to our film being based on the concept. We got this idea by developing the conventions of 'The Dark Knight' with their unique advertising skills (i.e. myspace layout's and dark knight phone). |
Unique Viral Campaign
We also tried to follow the conventions of the Dark Knight viral campaign, by using a our unique logo from our film. Which we thought was a good way of showing brand identity and also continuity, due to having just the logo spread through the public eye. In the attempt to make this viral we came up with the idea of setting a prize giving task to anyone who could post this picture in the most dangerous place on earth.
